IPL Treatment for dry eye
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is an advanced treatment for Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) which is one of the most common causes of dry eye. It can offer long-lasting relief and significantly reduce your need for eye drops and hot compresses
What is MGD?
MGD occurs when the meibomian glands in your eyelids become blocked or don’t produce enough oil to keep your tears healthy and stable. Without a healthy oily layer, tears evaporate too quickly, leading to symptoms such as dryness, burning, watering, and irritation.
How IPL Helps:
IPL uses gentle pulses of light around the eyelids improve gland flow and function by stimulating the surrounding neurological pathways. It also reduces inflamation. Most people benefit from a course of 3–4 IPL treatments, spaced at specific intervals to achieve the best long-term results.
